Ivanhoe Electric Unearths Promising Drill Results at Hog Heaven Project, Points to Porphyry Deposit Potential

Ivanhoe Electric Inc. (NYSE American:IE)(TSX:IE) is excited to share significant developments from its ongoing exploration endeavors at the Hog Heaven Project, situated approximately 50 miles southwest of Kalispell, Montana. Recent drill results indicate widespread mineralization, hinting at the possibility of a nearby porphyry source, marking a crucial milestone for the company's exploration program.

Encouraging Drill Results and Expanding Mineralization:

The exploration program, initiated in June 2023, has proven fruitful, with broad zones of precious and base metal mineralization being consistently intersected. Ivanhoe Electric's team remains optimistic as the data suggests the mineralization remains open in several directions, underscoring the project's potential.

Taylor Melvin, President and CEO of Ivanhoe Electric, stated, "We are encouraged by the recent drill results at our Hog Heaven Project in Montana. Our team continues to find widespread mineralization, which appears to remain open in several directions."

TyphoonTM Geophysical Survey and Future Exploration:

In addition to the drilling program, a TyphoonTM geophysical survey was conducted in November 2023, covering approximately 10 km2 of land. The results, expected in late February, will aid in targeting future exploration efforts, providing valuable insights into the district's prospectivity.

The ongoing exploration drill program, as part of its objectives, is not only searching for additional high-sulfidation epithermal mineralization but also delving into the potential for porphyry copper mineralization at depth.

Key Exploration Highlights:

  1. Drilling Expansion: The current exploration drill program has completed twelve drill holes, totaling 10,905 meters, with further assays pending. Drilling has extended to the west and southwest, where mineralization remains open.

  2. High-Sulfidation Mineralization: Drilling around the Flathead Mine has intersected precious and base metal-bearing high-sulfidation epithermal mineralization over broad zones, showcasing promising results.

  3. Porphyry Deposit Potential: Observations from recent drill holes, particularly HHD-010, provide evidence supporting the existence of a porphyry deposit. The drill hole intersected an intrusive with fragments containing porphyry vein stockwork, pointing towards potentially copper-rich mineralization.
